We are a ministry for students in grades 7-12 and their families. Our desire is to invite teenagers to join us in a lifelong journey of becoming more like Christ for the sake of others.

In Acts you read of Peter and others refusing to stop preaching when authorities try to silence them; you read of Stephen bolding saying he sees the kingdom of heaven as he’s being stoned; you are left stunned at the demand for holiness among the church; you wonder at the selflessness of believers; their willingness to go and do anything God asks them; you see Christianity spread through the ends of the earth mainly through the efforts of Paul.

Governments tried to suppress it, other religious groups ridiculed and persecuted it. Still, faith in Christ continued to spread. In essence, the church was an unstoppable force. What about today? Do we see the same determination, commitment to holiness, compassion, passion for following Jesus? This summer we’re diving into Acts at Refuge on Wednesday nights. Our prayer is for students to become an unstoppable force in their communities, schools, everywhere they go.

Refuge will resume June 3 from 7:00-8:00 PM in the Nichols Ministry Building on the LRC campus. Come early and hang out, play basketball, pool, video games. But be ready to be challenged by the passion and commitment displayed by the earliest Jesus followers.
